The Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, CON, has approved the appointment of Dr. Rauf, Adegoke Akeem as the substantive Rector of D. S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori-Ewekoro, Ogun State.
According to a statement released by the Chairman of the Institution’s Governing Council, Ambassador Toye Okanlawon, through the Institution’s image maker, Mr Yinka Adegbite, Dr. Goke Rauf’s appointment is effective from 28th August 2023. He takes over from Mr. Kehinde Job-Olatunji, who acted as the Institution’s Rector till date.
The new Rector was, until his appointment, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he served in various capacities including, Dean, School of Communication and Information Technology, Head, Department of Mass Communication, Elected Member of the Polytechnic’s Academic Board, among many other strategic positions.
Beyond MAPOLY, he has served as Moderator to the Department of Mass Communication of numerous Polytechnics and Universities. He is an NBTE Resource Person, and he is a member of several professional bodies including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
The statement noted further that Dr. Rauf has acquired a fine blend of experience as an academic scholar, an industry guru and a renowned professional.
Dr. Rauf’s appointment will be for a single term of five years according to the new Polytechnic Act, the statement added.
